Root-to-Pot Sizing Guide
Choosing the right pot size helps roots stay healthy and avoids common problems like overwatering or root-binding. As a general rule, the pot diameter should be close to — or just slightly wider than — the rootball. Most plants prefer a snug fit rather than a lot of extra space.

When to Size Up
- Roots are circling the bottom or escaping drainage holes
- The plant dries out noticeably faster than usual
- Roots are visibly crowding or pushing the plant up in the pot
- You can see through the clear walls that roots are packed wall-to-wall
When you do move up, choose a pot roughly 1–2 inches larger in diameter — not much more. Going too large too fast makes it harder to control moisture.
Drainage Note
All pots in this range come with drainage holes. Pair with a matching saucer or nursery tray and empty standing water within an hour or two of watering to keep roots healthy.
Plant growth rates and root habits vary widely. Use the clear walls to observe your specific plant and adjust as needed — no guide replaces what you can see through the pot.

Sturdy good quality pots
description says clear, but it's a translucent pot
Always fabulous service.
Good quality clear pots without side drainage, which are very hard to find. The 4" size fits into a regular 4" plastic pot which I use as a cover to prevent algae problems. I'll be ordering more of these.
